cougarcat no longer---Daytona in the driveway!
#1
Time to change the handle. Well, we left Ga. 0200 Friday morning drove 935 miles to Osh Kosh, WI with the Cougar, did the deal, and drove back--arriving 1745 Saturday with our "new to us" '01 Eliminator 26 Daytona. What a freakin' drive!!!!! I think I'll sleep 'til Monday.
Got to head to the closest water hole and try it out tomorrow. Anyone going to the tuna Sunday? If not, see ya in TN! Gerry

Thanks guys. It looked better when we picked it up---it probably rained on us for at least 300 of the 900+ miles coming home. It's completely nasty.
It's a leftover '01 (30 hours on boat but never sold so warrranty hasn't been started yet) on an red '02 xtreme tandem trailer, boat is white with red stripes running the length with purple and black checkerboard type pattern at the ends near the stern. It's got the integrated cockpit canopies like Rons boat. Pretty sedate as far as options. Swim steps, dual ram hydraulic steering, stuff like that but they're mostly standard. Only option I can think of is the 575sci/XR drive waiting to be hammered upon. I'll have to get Angie to work on posting a pic or two.
Time to give it a once over and take it for a quick, cold, foggy, damp ride!!!!!!!!! Gerry

Bob----Yes, that's it. Those pics suck. When I first found this boat neither Angie or I liked it at all (in those pictures). It looks maroon in those pics, however it is bright red. We went to WI to look/drive it in Sept., and saw it wasn't as bad as we thought. It's had quite a long history (repo'd from a eliminator dealer, moved around, etc.) but at the price we paid & got on trade it was a pretty good deal I guess. I'll try to post some good pics later. Hey guys----here are a few shots. Hopefully the link will work. Just got back from Allatoona--little chilly, quite a few diehards out on the water. Played around learning the boat for about an hour. Leaned on it a little bit on the way back from Illinois Creek---ran it up to an easy 90 with room left and the wife wasn't even beating on my arm or screaming (although the supercharger was!).
It has taken us four boats and 10 years of boating to get here, but I think we have found a winner. (knock on wood) I think Angie was more pleased with the boat and the ride today than me.

Gerry.........You're right. The pictures you have show the boat much much better.........That thing is cool.
......And ain't it great when the wifey likes the boat too
So, now when you hit triple figures guess you'll have to rely on gps alone. (as opposed to counting the 5 nail gouges in your arm)
Again...........great luck with it, hope to see it soon. (And don't forget your ear muffs for 50degrees next weekend, I'll throw a log on the fire for ya!)
