I am about to purchase a Magnum sedan (project-non running) and install a pair of outboards and turn her into a fishing machine. My intended use is to run offshore and once there either drift fish or anchor up. From what I have read these hulls appear to be great sea boats while underway, but will I be able to fish comfortably once I stop running? I have owned a smaller similar design(formula 233) which had a vicious snap roll in any chop. this proved too be way uncomfortable and I sold it. Is this Magnum not the boat for my intended purposes,? feel free to offer opinions, all are welcome. Thanks in advance!

You would be hard pressed to find a boat in the size range of a Magnum Sedan that would be any more sea worthy. It's hull was designed for offshore racing and can handle itself very well in most conditions. Also, it is so well constructed that you wouldn't have to worry about it being damaged by running in rough conditions, as long as the stringers and transom are still solid. Any boat of this type (narrow beam deep V) will rock easily in a beam sea while sitting still. One solution to this condition would be a gyro stabilizer such as the ones made by "Seakeeper". They're not cheap but it is remarkable how they can keep a boat from rocking.
