Finally !!

breaking news: Velocity powerboats assets purchasedsanford, florida, september 24,2018--velocity powerboats is set to get a new lease on life following the purchase of its assets and its trademarks by scott mccormick of debary, fl. While making the announcement, scott mccormick said that his intention is to restart manufacturing of the complete velocity powerboats line. Scott mccormick has very strong ties with velocity powerboats and this acquisition does not come as a surprise. His ties with the company are dated back to the early 1990’s when he frequented the thouroughbred factory in deland, fl. This wide-eyed kid wanted one of steve stepp’s offshore creations so badly he worked 2 jobs after school in hopes it would one day come true.
When mr. Mccormick opened his boat transport business in 1994, velocity powerboats was his first customer. This relationship began to blossom as it is learned that even after opening his business, he spent most of his free time at velocity factory rigging boats, setting up boat shows and selling boats for mr. Stepp. In 1999, mccormick and stepp partnered to build a factory spec race boat. It is during this period that scott began his professional offshore race career, where he came to achieve 15 podium finishes and set three world u.i.m. Records.
Mr. Mccormick has seen the brand’s following first hand from being a shop groupie all the way to becoming general manager in his 12 years at the factory. He is excited for the new company and he understands the hard work involved to turn it around. “my love for the product and the people who build and own a velocity is unmeasurable," said mr. Mccormick, adding that he is committed to seeing the company back to its rightful place. “my team and i have an unwavering desire and the vision needed to get this legendary brand back to its place in the offshore world which is…. First place!" said mr. Mccormick.

Excellent news! I have been waiting and hoping for someone with a passion and commitment to the brand to buy the company and restart production. I think we are in a strong enough economy to make a go of it. Best of luck to Scott, and Velocity Powerboats!

Bingo!
We just sold our cruiser through a broker on Lake Erie.
I threatened to fire him twice for failure to perform. He's a good dude and friend.
I guessed that the economy was strong enough that he was so busy selling $2-$300K boats (@ 10% commission) that he didnt have time for my $34K (@ 10%) boat.
He apologized and agreed.
We closed at his marina/office and they had a new 28' Regulator center console w/new 300 Yammis setting in front.
I guessed $300K, he said $285.
Theyre selling one a month.
To Velocity, hint, hint, hint.

“Outboards”
This is where the market has gone. Doesn’t matter what type of boat, outboards are what’s selling.
