Does anyone make an electric/remote controlled chain stop? I hate that I have to go out on my bow to remove the chain stopper every time I go out.
Or am I using it wrong? I have it flipped down when underway to secure the anchor in case the windlass fails and it drops unexpectedly, then when I am mooring I have to remove it or lock it up to deploy the anchor, then back down to secure it while moored. This isn't a problem in calm waters but when it's windy or there's a current it's much less fun. How do large boats handle this?

I normally don't even mess with the chain stop unless I'm at anchor. I'm on inland lake and while the water can get rough, its nothing like the ocean can get. I do take a chance not using the stop all the time, but my 1994 windless has never slipped yet. Being all chain, if it started to release I would hear it
As for the non-response, I would think most folks on OSO don't have a windless on their go fast boats. For these kinds of questions, I would suggets one of these forums
