Todd Fountain’s 28-foot Skater catamaran is one of several exciting outboard engine-powered builds happening at the Douglas, Mich., company, https://speedonthewater.com/new-boat...nd-more-coming.

No doubt about that! But save for the rumor mill, which hasn't exactly been reliable during the years, we'll all have to wait.

History always repeats itself and I cannot recall a time Mercury jumping more than 50hp at a time.
That being said if it is from Mercury Racing a badged 450r could have 475 actual HP.
The big deal will be is how much the new motor will weigh? I lighter version of the 400r and being 450hp+ and being 50-80lbs lighter would be a home run.

Regarding the 28’ cannot wait to see that boat run with the new 300r’s versus speeds past 28’s that have run with old 300x two stroke motors. With the wider tunnel and if the motors are stout should break 120mph.

My rumor mill sources tell me there is a 500 hp model coming, who knows. Those Mercury guys are better than Apple at keeping secrets!
