I have a 2007 42’ Fountain Lightning with the new style cockpit. Anyone know how to remove the grab handles on the backside of the front bolsters? Also, how do I remove the grab handles on the cockpit sides between the backseat and the front? I am having the handles repowder coated. Thanks

I can’t say how to get them off but I do like ur idea of getting them powder coated. I don’t like the look of them on fountains at all but they kinda have to be there for safety purposes. I saw one guy power coated them black and it kinda hid them a bit.
Good luck! Post pics!

Should be bolts or nuts holding them on. My boat doesn't have the side handles, and I've never removed the front bolster (back) handles. I removed the handle on pass side dash, and it had bolts that fastened it to the dash.
I have removed the driver side seat, rear seat (drop down bolster setup) and side trim panel on mine, and I did see where the side grab handle holes were already drilled into the gunnell. You would access those bolts (or nuts) from the lower storage door (slider) and reach up toward the rear to access the fasteners. My guess is there are studs on the back side of the handles that have nuts, but again I'm not certain. A skinny long armed kid that knows righty tighty lefty loosey would be helpful.

Not on the 42. The upper slide door compartments have an enclosure. The bottom ones (where you store ropes, light pole, etc) is open.
