Hi all, I have a '96 Cobalt 252 with a 7.4 Mag MPI, and I want to send the ECU out to either Whipple or AS&M to have a 93 octane tune put on it. I'd like to keep my original ECU and buy a used ECU to send out for reprogramming. MEFI 1 seems to be WAY more expensive than MEFI 2, and I've found some conflicting info on interchanging them if I have the MEFI 2 tuned. I saw a thread a while back that broke down the MEFI 1/2 serial number series and comparability, hoping someone here has some info on that? Any help is greatly appreciated, already gotten lots of good info here lurking, but I'd like to pull the trigger on the used ECU to get it out to someone for programming.

Cleaner idle, higher rev limiter, claims 25hp gain on premium only tune. Basically puts the 7.4 Mag at 410hp which is just shy of he 502 Mag 415hp performance. Should put me into the low 60s. Currently runs 57gps with unbalanced, nicked up B3 26p props (props are being done too.)
