20 year set up - extremely poor fuel injectors - for one they are ball and seat for a jist - outdated ecm and NLA inwhich is extremely limited. I would buy a current set up thru holley or whomever that one can always program on the water and data log instead of thru the mail. If one is updating their boat I would update to the current technology including the injectors. Nothing special about MEFI 3 period nor the 500 efi fuel / air set up. . It is not even supported anymore. And if one was on the cheap - a current massaged carb and intake would out perform that old set up.

all 500 efi were MEFI 3 oem stock Merc racing. Some owners have changed to MEFI 4 on a conversion after the fact way down the road.especially ones that the MEFI 3 went bad nor fixable.
