Here is the next to the only way to get an X Power drive.

2003 38? Cigarette TOP GUN $149,999 Tres Martin Performance

Buy the boat, you will have two drives, then get creative....either replace them with bravos and 525's and take out the whippled 525's with low hours Paff built, or ???

You should be able to get the package at below the cost of the X drive related parts alone! This one has the stainless gimbals, 6 drive props, and all the X-power goodies with custom fabricated Tie bar connections and outer steering connection to the gimbal. LOTS of options right there to the right person. This boat should be right around 115/120 with that setup as well, one of the quickest accelerating 38's built considering those drives and near 800hp ea. power package. Good luck!

Just pull the band-aid off now and buy an IMCO SCX

Im running an IMCO SCX. The lower has slowed the boat down by 15mph. The X power is shorter and runs faster by a mile. Its a true dry sump drive! Im ready to buy are trade my SCX for a X power.

Why don't you buy the new dual downshaft SCX lower. It is the same size as a standard SC lower. And it is 2 inches shorter than a standard drive and it will bolt right up to your standard SCX upper.
You should get your speed back and the other thing is there will be parts available.
