Would be cool to see Torrente, the current XCat champion, compete also in another victory built boat in the US in 2019

I have been watching the XCat races on their youtube channel and the Victory boats definitely run well. It makes me question why the US series don't run the 400 ROS motors and continue to run "outdated" engines?....

The most simple answer? Cost to repower. Mercury Racing ROS outboard are not inexpensive.

the cost is so out of control for this class it’s not funny they will continue to price the average racer out of the class with money and the new technology when the cost of a new boat will be in excess of 250000.00 plus everything else to go along with it and unfortunately this is the problem in this sport with all the classes not just this one it’s a very expensive hobby that we love but these boats are just toys

A used boat and one season will cost you over $200k and likely NOT be competitive. A NEW boat is well over $300k and you haven't even tested yet. Much less started a season.

They really need to go back to a true stock outboard cat class that the average sport cat owner can relate to and participate in from time to time this class is awesome to watch but the average person can’t afford there program let alone a new boat every 1 or 2 years I remember the years when there were 20 plus in this class when there were Skaters and Motions as well as Cobra Cats and a few select others and they ran the open cockpit cats with the canapied boats and it really came down to the set up not who can outspend who
