29th Rochester Offshore Seneca Lake Battleship Run - July 20, 2019
#1
It is with great pleasure that I get to announce the 29th annual (yes, you read that right) Rochester Offshore Powerboat Association Seneca Lake Battleship Run this coming July in upstate New York. Yes, even with a little over a foot of snow on the ground from last week’s storm, that’s exciting news!
For those of you that have not yet participated in the event, here’s your chance to attend one of the absolute nicest events anywhere in the country. The event has many things going for it starting with the body of water. Seneca Lake is a 31 mile-long, deep (and fresh) water lake formed by a glacier back before Al Gore invented global warming. With plenty of room for everybody to stretch out, it would be hard to design a better venue.
Headquarters for the run is the beautiful Showboat Hotel on the west shore of the lake with additional lodging available just down the road at the Plum Point Lodge (formerly the Rainbow Cove Hotel) and there is docking available at both hotels. Great food, drinks and rooms are available at both and a launch ramp that will accommodate just about anything you could dream of is less than a mile away.
And finally, there’s the people. If there’s one thing that keeps people coming back to this run year after year, it’s the people. First, there’s the hard working and cheerful all volunteer ROPA staff there to help you at every turn. Then there’s the staff at the hotels who bend over backwards to keep everyone happy. And last but not least, there’s the folks who live on and around Seneca Lake who turn out in droves to watch and cheer run participants on.
This year’s run will be held Saturday - July 20, 2019. Most folks get there on Friday and stick around for some bonus boating on Sunday. No matter what you decide though, you’re in for a great weekend. For more information on the run or to sign up, go to the ROPA web site at: https://www.rochesteroffshore.org/

Ok folks, spring has officially sprung! While you're getting your boat ready to hit the water, it's also time to sign up for some fun events to take it to. The Seneca Lake Battleship Run is something you do not want to miss. And, there's an "early registration" discount still available on the ROPA web site. Hope to see you there!

Time to get excited about a great event. This event is one of the most affordable events in the North East, Great Helpful People, Run what you Got. Easy relaxing event that takes place in one central location (Showboat Hotel). Any questions please feel free to post up, or send me a PM. I will be driving the Playboy Cigarette. Can't wait to meet some new boaters.

Made contact with Plum Point Lodge, and they had one room left, as they had a couple cancellations. Showboat Motel also has a waiting list, but as of yesterday, there was 30 ppl on the list. Im sure Plum Point would have waiting list too. Just a heads up for anybody thinking about attending.
