Unfortunately, my boat is getting older. The foamed backed vinyl that is on the ceiling is starting to fall down. So I am cutting the rest of it out and got most of the foam out. Question is, how do I remove the glue from the fiberglass? Thanks

Not much you can do besides scrape and sand it

i am going through this right now on my stinger..... pain in the you know what!! I went the wire wheel way on my cordless drill...but i went with a metal wire wheel as i didnt feel he plastic one i was using was getting through it fast enough.....your arms hurt after a while of laying on your back and pressing on the ceiling just have to power through it. and it hasnt hurt the fiberglass at all as far i can see anywhere.

Buy a flat blade for your sawzall. They are like a putty knife and will get most of the residue off. You don't need to get down into the glass fibers if you are going to recover the laminate

Use a plunge cutter. HD or Lowes sells them. Fein tool originally designed them,now everyone makes one. I would try a curved smooth cutter. Very controllable, most tools have variable speed. Lots of different cutters available.

I had glue residue in my cabin from some carpet that was glued in. I tried all sorts of solvents, but finally had great luck with mastic remover. wiped right off. good luck.
