Trying to find a replacement plug-in masthead/anchor pole light abt 40" long. The orig base broke (Perko) so I ordered a Perko replacement. Part arrived and I discovered it's too small. It so small, I can't even drill new screw holes cause center hole is so big (1.5") Found a "heavy duty base" on the Perko site and the screw holes match (although it calls for a 1.25" center hole??). Problem is the "heavy duty base" only has 1 pole option, just a 2-wire anchor light. While the 7/8" heavy duty pole sounds good, I'd like to keep the 3-wire setup. Any ideas??
Thx in adv.

Can you make this base work? Use your chrome ring. Is the pole light still good? Did you call perko? 305-621-7525

That looks like the new one I just bought (1045P00DP). I got a reply from Perko this morn:
"I don't have any good news for you. The base you had was the
1023300CHR. It was replaced with the 1045P00DP, and the holes do not
match up. The 1023 base was discontinued over twenty years ago. We do
not have a masthead/all-round light that works with the heavy duty base."
The old base didn't use a chrome ring. The whole top part was chromed metal and a lot beefier.

After many hrs of trolling around, looks like the heavy duty Perko base is the only "easy" option. After a couple more hrs of searching I find that none of the Perko distributors stock it. It's a special order with a 4 week lead time. Same for the pole light. Asked Perko what the MSRP is and they said they haven't provided retail prices for 20+ years. That seems odd. Getting the feeling this is going to be one expensive anchor light.
The more I think abt it, the less I feel I need to maintain a steaming/anchor light at the rear of the boat..What's the point? So you can be less visible from the rear while under way?
Or, Is there a law saying you can't have 2 white lights (stern+anchor) visible from behind while under way?
My prev boat had a steaming/anchor light mounted on the windshield frame. That made a lot more sense.
