hello gentlemen. im new to this. in the market for a velocity 290sc. have found a few. some with the HO and some with the 500efi. any input from owmers would be great! may actually be going to pick one up next weekend. one has the HO and the other has the 500efi. im a huge silent choice fan for the exhaust and was told if you convert the 500 to it it can be a nightmare. thanks gents!!!!

Don't use silent choice, much easier and cheaper to use mufflers. I have a built 524 with headers and put Gibson mufflers on it and it's very reasonable. I don't have to worry about the noise police and it's quieter than my brothers 4 banger Bayliner idling down the river. With the exhaust under the swim platform, all the noise is behind you under way. At 60 the wind noise almost completely drowns out the engine, it's just a hum at that point.

GGB inserts, no power loss and cheaper than mufflers.
