Default 2001 292 Bimini Top

I have a 2001 292 and it came with a top. The top attaches and works fine, but does it seriously not fit under the engine hatch?! it's approx 4-5" too wide to fit under the hatch, and its too tall to fit under the front of the boat...

Where are people putting these things when they are under way?!

thanks!

Mine fits under the hatch on my 292. Its not easy to get in and out but it fits. 1 person can do it, 2 makes it a little easier. Trick is to go in on an angle. Put one side in first about half way and then pull the other post in and down. Your have to really torque it so not to scratch the gelcoat on that side, there is plenty of play, so it will clear.

Wow, so clean. lol. nice. I don't have the little shelves that hold it either... those aren't cheap.

I try. She fights me constantly...

The side brackets are a must if you want to store it under. Otherwise it will just fall down into the engine compartment. You could rig nylon straps on either side or something to hold it in place if they are that expensive. Just get creative with it. Something that looks likes its supposed to be there and is functional.

I tried again the other night, I don't get how it can fit. All I manage to do is bang into things. I gave up... currently saving my pennies for the next boat.

BTW: I'm also in PA. We boat out of Essex, MD.
