Is anybody having engine issues with the MV8 7.4L ILMOR? I am on my third engine in less than 10 months with 72 total engine hours on a 2018 Formula 270 BR. This engine has left me stranded twice, cut four trips short and spent over two months in the shop due to mechanical issues.
My experience in ten months of ownership with this boat/engine combination.

- Failed Power Steering System
- Sub Standard PDI Performed
- Failed Exhaust Boot
- Failed ECU Mounting Bolts
- Failed Bilge Pump
- Failed Audio System, power continued to be lost shutting the audio system off
- Three Failed Gages
- Failed Bimini Top
- Failed Raymarine Unit
- Failed Carpet Snaps
- Drive Unit Trim Height Incorrect
- Catastrophic Engine Failure
- Replacement engine no good, so third engine is now being installed

Probably not a lot of folks on this site with that engine. Very surprised to hear of the issues with the ILMOR mill. The other items are typical production boat BS that Formula and the dealer should make right.

I have them in my '18 350 CBR and had a 50 breaker issue and now a trim smart switch issue but the engines have been string. What was the failure in the engine? These are built off if the GM LSX platform and should be strong engines.

The engine has been replaced and seems to be running fine, but I now also have a trim smart switch issue and the drive failed last week. I am thinking the engine failures were due to the variable speed timing. I don't know what other people are experiencing with ILMOR, but I think I officially have a LEMON!!
