Default Hardin 525 EFI upgrades

Just finishing up with total refresh on my 525's and was wondering if anyone has any experience with the Hardin Marine upgrades for the 525's?

Wondering if they really up the performance enough that you see it on the GPS speedo? Have heard that the Whipple reflash was so so, are these changes better?

Thinking the better flame aestor, upgraded throttle body and reflash, Thoughts here?????????????????

Since no one else is chiming in, my thought is why compromise the reliability and maybe lose the ability to burn 87 octane for a few more hp. If going all out with a turbo or SC then that is a different animal. Aren't the throttle body and flame arrestor on the 525 already good pieces?

A very broad rule of thumb on boat mods is 20hp = 1mph. Some things may help it run better, but overall speed increasing is highly unlikely with a few bolt-ons unless something oem was dramatically insufficient, and I believe that platform was pretty solid to begin with.

I read some older threads about the Hardin intake yesterday bc I was kicking it around. I do not see justifiable gains for the $$$ spent vs gain. I also drive a whale so I doubt it would move the fun meter much if at all. They sure do look cool though!!!

I have done the whipple flash and Hardin flame intake and figured gave me about 1 maybe 2 mph. I was right on my rev limiter with 28p props and under little to far with 30p. So kept the 28's and would not bounce the limiter on good days and had better acceleration. Is it worth the money IMO no. But it does give them a little bump.

Thanks for the comments so far, appreciated. I have played this game for decades, know full well that it takes some real added punch to move the speedo. Just looking for some real world "it done this" comments on these parts.

Again thanks for the comments.

More or less a bump here, but have a hard time thinking that at least a few have not gone down this road.

Is this money well spent? Or just a farsicle money pit?
