AHHH I worked at Team Scarab for 12 years and I
can say one thing for sure
Larry Smith would not allow any type of swivel
seat in a Scarab, All seats had to hard mount to
the floor.
A Second strange thing is
that he would not put a
Drain plug in any boat
Race or not that was built
at Team Scarab.
Im not trying to be a smart ass but thats just
how he is.

rigging on your own SUCKS!! We had to reposition the sea strainers a couple of times, drill bigger holes for the exhaust, replace guages, drill new holes for the port engine's motor mounts. I do not envy you if it is your profession.

About 8 years ago I replaced all the teak on my old Scarab with 3/4 inch thick cuting board from work. Looked very cool and easy to work with. Now they are selling the stuff as Starboard for about 4 times what its worth. You can buy it from a butcher supply house for a fraction of the cost as West or BoatUs.
