Default Performance boating in lake Taho?

OK. So the Avanti is in Sarasota in storage for sale. Not much action, Thinking to bring it out to CA, have it on a rack at Lake Tahoe. What's gong on at that lake? Will I feel ok? any others crazy peeps running around in performance boats? Should I ? I hate to be with out the boat, paying for storage and not even using it.
Comments? Input?
Thanks
P

Sure you can. Lots of boats stay on mooring balls, which would put you at the marinas mercy for getting to and from your boat. There are also more normal marinas and yacht clubs though. The lake is almost exclusively formulas, cobalts, and wake boats. It’s not like anywhere else I’ve boated, amazing and very unique. Extremely cold water.

If you don't have computer controlled EFI motors you'll have to deal with air density altitude and carburetor adjustments due to the lake being to high above sea level. You may also have to reprop.

I bought my old 38 top gun from Lake Tahoe. There’s a handful of go fasts running around but like Tim said, your going to need efi and your going to lose a ton of speed in the altitude.

The water patrol is VERY strict on noise levels. I don't know the decibel level but mufflers are required.

Years ago, I participated in the last POPRA boat race on Lake Tahoe. We were accused of polluting their drinking water, and treated like second class citizens. I have no desire to ever go back there.

I lived out there for 4 years. It's not a friendly area for go fasts IMO. Too many tree huggers who don't want the noise and the pollution. They were tough on motorcycles too for the noise.
