Default 496 HO throttle position percentage on computer.

What’s everyone seeing on the computer with their wide open throttle percentage read out? I had computer hooked to mine today and was showing 80 percent and would mess with it manually on motor, and it would go up. I adjusted it, and is showing 96%. Was wondering if anyone else has had that issue?

I have 2x496 in Formula few issues with fuel injectors and fuel pumps marina fixed it over winter I hope? The motors would not turn up fuel pressure way high was the problem? Not really impressed with the 496 motors

This is the ONLY way to make sure that your throttle bodies are working correctly. Even if you can look in manually to see the blades are open, the TPS has to see 100%, else it won't dump the fuel in accordingly.
I did this on my motors years ago, and I was only around 90% at the time. I installed new throttles, and re-adjusted everything to get to 100% open.

The high pressure fuel pumps are very susceptible to ethanol fuel problems. I bought fuel from a marina in Florida that was advertised as No-Ethanol, but it turns out that was bad info. I left the fuel in the boat for several months in the Florida humidity for winter storage, and the fuel drain most of the humidity from Ft. Lauderdale. Had I known it was ethanol fuel, I would have treated it with additive accordingly. BE CERTAIN to use an ethanol fuel additive (Star-Tron is my go-to) with EVERY fill up. And your 496s will stay happy.
