Hello All!
This years event was a "Huge Success" thanks to Corey Vodvarka, Eric Bryner, Scott Shankin, Daren Van Ryte, and the whole crew of organizers!
We gathered about 48 boats just 1 mile outside of Newport Harbor on June 15th where we waited for the Helicopter to Arrive at 9:45am.
The first group of about 8 boats took off including a water skier, the Coyote, and fountains.
The second group consisted of about 40 boats including 2 VanDutch Yachts, MTI Center console, Nortech 43 Super V, Fountain 42, Fountain 39, Nordic, Eliminator 30 V, Skater 23 with Tripples, and many more.
We raced to the island with Helicopter overhead with Eric Bryner on video and Daren Van Ryte on Photography.
The Nortech 43 Super V made it first to the island and Harbor patrol boat to secure an inside mooring. The remaining boats moored in front of Decanso beach club for the day.
The festivities took off at Decanso beach club for an Epic day of meeting new friends, drinks, and stories! What a great day!
And it didn't stop there, later in the night the activities took off again with Karaoke at the Galleon and Chi Chi club....party, party, party!
Sunday morning everyone was slow to awake and we headed to Jacks and the Pancake house for breakfast.
The group then headed across the channel to Woody's Wharf, where again the party commenced as we dominated the docks.
Everyone at the event was in agreement to continue our Mantra...."Making West Coast Offshore Powerboating Great Again!"
This is just the start of big things to come for the West Coast Offshore Club!
We have another event planned this summer to run from Long Beach to Newport Beach for lunch and several individual Catalina runs.
Head over to Facebook and Join the group "California Powerboat Club" If you are interested in meeting up and running to Catalina, Newport, Long Beach, San Diego, Santa Barbara, and other Socal hot spots!
