Hey guys I’ve been into sea-doos and boats a while but this is my first v8 boat
The boat is a motified Deep v I’ve been told 23ft concord hull with a mercury 330hp and has a b&m 250 on it and HiREL EFI system !
I bought the boat off a guy who first ride blew it up , I’m thinking the Ecu was not setup for boost and the motor cold seized a piston in the bore by the sounds of it !
my goal is to rebuild the motor clean up the heads maybe a set of alum heads , not sure on what comp or Cam I will do but I want to use the B&M 250 blower and add the aftercooler to it and I will fabricate a set of jacketed headers for this setup ! Also I will be using the multi port fuel injection with a GM Ecu or megasquirt setup .
what suggestions do you guys suggest on comp ratio and Cam ? Also with these mods would I be able to hit the 650-700hp range !

The 330 is not a platform that you should be putting a 250 on. Cast internals crank and rods. You're looking to repeat the vicious cycle unless you upgrade to forged pistons, forged crank. Then you might as well start over with a mag engine or 420. Many different ways to skin this cat.

Oh those heads are good for torque lol.
i have a 1988 454 gen V block I believe in my RV I’m big out for a Vortec 7400.
i noticed the Mercruiser 330 block has the newer Gen IV timing cover I’m wondering what heads would be on the older RV blocks ?

Thanks sent you a PM back.
looks like the lower intake manifold for the blower was or has the injector bungs on it ! They installed injectors and the rails were not straight so two injectors were firing towards the middle of the intake manifold ! I know it’s imposible to fire them into the head port as the blower limits the angle of the injector .

Open or closed chamber heads?
Running tight squish clearance with a dished piston generally works better on mild boost than flat tops and pistons down in the holes.
700 hp is out of reach with a 250 blower on a 454 with mediocre heads and a <5000 rpm limit.
A 420 mega blower on a 502 with rectangle or aftermarket heads is an EASY 700.
Also be aware that regular Bravo 1 drives have questionable reliability past 450hp. Billet caps and showers are just the START of what you'll need. The lighter the hull, the better the out drive will like it.
Your 454/250 blower combo will make a happy 500-550 horses.
