Who's all going to Michigan City this weekend? I'm thinking of heading up there. I hear Michigan City has some of the best fans.

I can see some of the teams possibly skipping this race because they just had a race in St. Claire. Whoever made the schedule up should have gave at least 2 weeks. There's not enough time to travel back and forth. I hope I'm wrong. Hope to see a 60+ boat count.

Rough guess, based on the teams I've spoken with and the previous four races? Michigan City will have 50 to 60 teams competing.

Heading up there for the first time since it is so close to me. Hoping for a good turnout boat-wise. Alan Coil (Myrick's dad) told us last year in Key West it was his favorite venue.

Hopefully they will run the 750 cats with the 1100 cats so there is more action all at once instead of having 2 different races because as exciting as the 1100 cats are it is like watching paint dry with only 3 or 4 boats out there at once just my opinion.

Hopefully that doesn't happen again, as there is way too much speed difference between the two classes (30+ mph). They only ran the two classes together at St Claire because they were pushed on time after all the delays throughout the day (ships needing to pass through and a weather squall that rolled through). The differences in the way the rudder boats turn vs the Merc drive boats also adds to the danger of running the two classes together. Had the two classes not run together Sunday, M-Con would not have rolled over in the South turn. I don't disagree with you that watching 3 Super Cat 1100 boats run circles around the course is as exciting as watching submarine races, but it's better than putting the racers in a more perilous situation than they're already in when they're out there running these boats hard for almost an hour.
