Default Pad on F311

I am curious if anyone has ever put a pad on a F311? I’m wondering what folks would think if I did this how much I would get from the boat. How much of a pad should I design? Just feels like the boat handles so well in the rough that a minor pad could really help get some speed out of these vessels.

Thanks in in advance for your thoughts.

Knowing the history of the original Formula hull and rounded keel, I'm surprised that Formula went with a sharp V keel.

I'm in my infancy, learning about the hydrodynamics of high speed hulls. But I do know that any potential Pad changes, could really mess things up.

There are a couple guys that have put pads on Formula 233s.

Glassed them in.

There is also the risk of getting turbulent water feeding the drive(s).

I know of one that has a notched transom along with a raised X that's running some pretty insane speeds. Haven't heard of anyone adding a pad to the bottom.

Don't mess with a good thing. The 311 is a great boat just the way it is. If you want to go faster start with a different boat.

Thanks guys ..... I was just fielding the question. I do think the boat is great. I love it. Just looking for my own unique ways to make the boat my own. Just seemed like a small pad would help get it moving. Not opposed to engine work down the road when they need it, just know it takes a lot of power to get it to run.

Thanks again
