Home - Old Bahama Bay Resort & Yacht Harbour Old Bahama Bay, Caribbean Paradise
Some favorites that will likely be closed for a long time...............Getting simple stuff in the Bahamas is not only expensive but usually a hassle. They have a 12% VAT tax on almost everything and if it is something big like a car, then it is 45%. So imagine the nightmare of trying to rebuild an island with limited labor talent, unobtainable supplies and crazy prices! Its not like Home Depot doesn't have it and you have to go across the street to Lowe's!
Florida appears to be getting "brushed" by the outer bands.........no landfall.

2 days in the eye must be hell on earth - those poor folks in Grand Bahama are really taking a beating now that this beast has stopped moving.
They are going to need lots of support next few months - and to think it could have been Fort Lauderdale getting the 185 mph winds.

I heard Nippers is gone (it was essentially a wood frame bar directly on the ocean), lots of flattened homes on Marsh Harbour. Even if your home made it, you won't want to go there for years until the rest of the island recovers. But if you had some building skills, some access to materials to import you probably could make some great money in the next couple years. Probably a cheap place to buy a hotel/marina too.
