Default Scarab 33 AVS DPX Vibration

Any of you owners of the 33AVS DPX have excess vibration at idle, in the stern, swim platform, engine hatch??

Exhaust tip and/or swim platform in the water issue ? Don't own one...just throwing this out there.

First, take each motor out of gear one at a time and see if you can narrow down a driveline.
Do the same with shutting each engine down.

Second, does your swim platform trap air under it at idle?
This will cause vibration as it burbs out.

The 38’ NorTech F2 race boat would weirdly lift the whole transom up and burb out the exhaust air pressure all at once. It was weird to watch it in the pits; almost teeter-totter up briefly.

I know the Fountain 32ft's have that problem with the swim platform. This Scarab also happens in gear until it planes out.

It's a new boat to the owner. Trying to get the bugs out. I'm not sure what the DPX uses on the back motor mounts, like the bravo fiber washer.

they do not have fiber washers for rear engine mounts. Its nothing like Mercruiser --- its a rubber cushion mount and needs to be properly inserted into the inner transom assembly and tight --- a bolt and square nut as well needs to be position correctly. Like I said the alignment is very important here.

Are the U joints good ?? -- how balanced are the props ?? -- Are they clocked properly ??

I have seen and on the water a warped engine coupler and or loose engine coupler do this as well but smooths out better the fast you go with engine speed / rpms.

Harmonic balancer in good shape ??

I have driven many times plus work on at least one DPX per year and even have an exact 33 in my area with DPX 600 twins that does not do what you have going on. DPX drives as well.

My guess prob the engines have been out from the PAST owner and they were clueless how to reinstall the rear mounts and engines. .

are the front motor mounts tight and the rear mounts tight ?

If the U joints have been changed and they did not get put back EXACTLY the orientation --- the u joint shafts / yokes, then that could be the issue. OEM volvo does not sell just U joints -- they want the whole assembly change because they are balanced. When that balance is upsetted it will vibrated. There is Volvo SB s all about that as well.

Props are new and clocked. I'm thinking rear mounts too, each motor will give you the vibration when you run just one motor.
