Default Over spray removale

I bought a boat and the knuckle head owner painted it with no prep or care to mask off and or protect the inside. I have over spray all over the gel coat. He used automotive paint. I have tried lacquer thinner and acetone with no luck. I do not want to try and sand off. Any suggestions for paint remover that will not damage the gel coat. Thanks in advance.

Maybe try wd-40 and a magic errasor?

Or very very fine sand paper and buffer w/h rubbing compound.

I would start in a small low profile area first.

Thanks for the tip. The over spray is very heavy, not like a mist so the WD 40 will not cut it. I need some heavy duty stuff like a chemical paint stripper/ remover.

Thanks for the reply. The over spray is really heavy, clay bar will not cut through it. I need a good chemical that will not damage the gel coat.

Ive had good luck using reducer to remove over spray. It seems to reactivate the paint just long enough to wipe it up.

For those that are interested. In tried the oven cleaner spray and it work very well on the light over spray. Spray it, wait 15 minutes and wipe it off. It did not put a dent into the heavy over spray. I will be trying the reducer as a member suggest as my next step. More to follow.
