Default 1980 Wellcraft Excalibur research

I just acquired a 1980 Excalibur. I've seen conversations on Excalibur boats 27' and larger but not anything on the 23'6". Kinda curious why the HIN number comes back as Homemade out of Florida.
When I bought the boat the 454 was blown. It has a Bravo outdrive that someone added a whail tail to. I have a 555 bbc I am planning on replacing the 454 with. Wondering if I should add a standoff box and larger tabs to help chine walk most Excalibur owners talk about.
Really curious about the history of the boat. For some reason I don't think it came with the power and drive it has now. Any information would be appreciated.

Wellcraft did not make a 23' Excalibur in 1980.

Post a pic. Never seen a wellcraft excalibur in 1980. Come to think i dont even recall a wellcraft that uses "excalibur" molds. I think its just the product name. Somone correct me if im wrong but never seen a 24, 27 or 31 wellcraft excalibur that looks like the original bill farmer excaliburs.

I'm pretty sure they didn't come with a big block and a Bravo 2

What's got me baffled is the 270 on the side.

As far as I can tell it's been in Texas for the last several years.
