Default Re urethane foam spillover

I have some urethane foam that spilled over from a pour onto a gel coat surface and a panel painted with Interlux Brightside one part polyurethane paint. Does anyone have a suggestion for a chemical cleaner to dissolve the foam without harming the painted surface. Not worried about cleaning up the gel coat. It may actually be a one part urethane foam. Did not fire off initially, then seemed to decide to cure and expand after a few days of sitting then the air temp increased on a sunny day. Thanks.

Found a UK product called Ted Gar that actually removes the foam without damaging the surface. There is a Youtube video of it working. There does not seem to be a US source for the product though. Anyone know about this amazing product? Thanks.

That stuff can make an awful mess if not tended to as soon as there's a spill. I believe I've seen the single part stuff (the type that is sold at hardware stores in an aerosol can) leave a horrible mustard yellow/brown discoloration on surfaces if not immediately cleaned up.
I know that when I was using the 2 part foams to install a fuel tank I mistakenly thought that some of the mixing sticks/brushes were salveagable using acetone but that turned out to be a failed chemistry lesson. The damn stuff seems to keep doing its thing even doused in acetone.
I can understand the concern as far as cleaning it off of painted surfaces but I'll bet that if its penetrated any chalking on gelcoat it'll be just as hard to remove without damage.
I can't find the youtube videos though .

Wherever they sell foam for insulation they typically have the foam guns as well. Why dont you buy the gun cleaner and give it a try.

Google Ted Gar foam remover video. I need something that will not damage the surfaces. Just heard back from the manufacturer. Will post progress.

I've had good luck with Motsenbockers lift off. This is a Lowes, Amazon or Home depot item.

It doesn't actually dissolve the foam but it breaks the bond. Works pretty well on 5200 also, Just give it some time.

Thanks for the heads up. I just received the products from Poland. I will try them this weekend as it will be in the sixties here in Colorado! Go figure.

It was 65 in Colorado this weekend! The products worked great on gelcoat. :ifted the foam residue quickly. On the Interlux Brightside paint the foam lifted along with the paint! So a little sanding and paint touch up. It was worth the experiment. Merry Christmas.
