With its first new 47 Lightning sportboat in more than 10 years, Fountain Powerboats served notice that it is back in the V-bottom sportboat game in a big way, https://speedonthewater.com/new-boat...-a-major-chord.

I never got what was wrong with left hand throttles. Guess there are those that don’t have very good coordination with both hands

Always wanted to drive a Fountain to see how I would or would not like left-handed throttles. I'm ambidextrous so I think I would not have minded them at all. Still, I think it was a good call to move them to the right (maybe you can get them either way now?).

Good looking boat.

So nice to see these traditional sport boats from Fountain and Donzi.

you could always order them either way. I prefer left handed after owning a fountain. I’m right handed but it feels right to drive the boat throttling left.

In the past would it have still been dash mounted if switched to the right? I assume so. Appears on this new boat it is in a more traditional position along the gunnel.

yes would have been dash mounted. I’ve had both style and thus far I’ve been most comfortable running the fountain. In a sit down app a can see more flat style working better.
