If your motor is smart craft ready it should work. But I’d call Mercury

Yes it will. I put it on my 01 496HO. I have one of the first 200 496's. you won't be able to get all the features (volts, speed, etc. but it shows the codes). Its way better than guessing why the dreaded 2 beeps is going off.
