Default Cigarette Bullet Notched transom

Does anyone know what years the bullet was made with a notched transom? I have see bullets with both notched and straight bottoms, was it and option? How did the ride vary?

My boat is a 1989 and has a notch. I believe this was the first year for them.

89 is the first year the factory offered it. my 88 was sent back to the factory to have it added. from what I am told they ride better if set up right, carter38 would be the guy to ask.

Thanks, I have also heard of a couple of Cafe's with notches, I was wondering what's the difference in the ride, speed, etc. Many have said the reason a TG is faster with similar power is due to the notch.

My '88 Bullet had no notch...but my '88 Top Gun did. I want to say some of the later 1988 builds had the notch....but that is just an assumption.

87 top guns had no notch, 88 did, I believe 3 -5 cafe’s were built with a notch, they porpoises a bit, but I think with today’s props and shorties that could be fixed fairly easily
