I'm looking at a 1995 24 baja outlaw, it's very clean n well kept, all stock . I'm wondering if these boats would handle 7 or 800 hp n speeds of 90 plus , would this boat become a death trap or should I be looking for something different?

I had a "warmed" 525SC with a chiller putting out about 650HP in my old 97 24' Outlaw. Boat ran around 80 as I recall. There's definitely a wall. It's a true 24' hull with a 24 degree vee, but it's only around 4500 lbs and that's just not a lot of length and weight for that power. Also, it WILL chine walk because of the short length. I felt comfy enough running up to 80 in the right water but over 90??? Meeeeeeeeh, I don't know. Of course I'm 23 years older now and don't need such thrills as I did when I was 22 years old.

I ran a Procharger M3 on my 2000 Outlaw 25 for a long time and ran about 85. It was pretty stable; but, had full hydraulic steering and K-planes. Of course, a little different boat.

On a side note, I NEVER had one drive issue and ran the original stock Bravo drive for the 7 years I owned that boat. Which is pretty amazing being that that small, running most of the time in the pacific ocean in decent size swell, the thing was out of the water more than it was in the water most of the time!
