MTI owners I need your input. I am considering a 42' with 1350's. I have heard that 1350's are expensive to maintain and i have heard they are not. I need the truth. I don't mind as long as I make a decision with the facts. I do not run boats hard, and i do not put hours on them. I would put about 10-20 hours a year on this boat. Turbo shafts I have heard are an issue. Just anyone that owns 1350's please tell me annual expense of ownership.

Call Dave @ Wesco in Michigan @ 616-662-2250 or Kaase Race Engines in GA @ 770-307-0241
They are the only guys other than Mercury who I know of that have rebuilt a number of these engines. Dave was one of the first guys to rebuild a turbo motor outside of a Mercury facility and Kaase does all of Geicos motors + other pleaure boats.

At 10-20 hours a season you won't have much maintenance. Basically oil changes and check things over. It's the guys who are running 75-100+ hours a season where the refreshes can come up quicker.
