Default International Boat Registration

Hi. Anyone registered in, or have information on, Langkawi Malaysia? I'm considering flagging my boat there due to all the recent restrictions with Delaware. I found a company online that does registrations there and that got me to thinking... They allow charters and you don't ever have to visit there.

What could go wrong? Do you pay $10k but you get $15k back in tax breaks afterwords? my guess more if a prince signs off on it?

Probably less money just to pay the sales tax.

Why Langkawi? Are you based in the area? A lot of big boats are registered in the Cayman Islands and also Nassau, good tax havens.
The OP must have a much bigger boat than my last couple...

P.S. Just scanned through this quickly, may be useful?

Thank you for some of your responses. I'm just looking around for other options that give me the freedom to travel domestic and internationally. I called Yacht Registry and they informed me that Langkawi is tax free, I have the freedom to travel anywhere, and I can register for up to 5 years. They work with one of the few authorized agents for Malaysian registration. I did some checking and they have an A+ BBB rating and have been in business for a long time. This looks legit.

I am no where near Langkawi, but it doesn't matter. I am not required to visit there. I've been reading it about it and it seems like it is growing in popularity. Not decided yet, but I like to know about all of my options
