Default 26 CV Hydraulic steering reccomendations

Looking for recommendations-which hydraulic steering system to consider for my 26cv. Mayfair has 2 kits: ram 9" from side of gimbal housing (mount between exhaust and stringer) and 17 3/4" from gimbal-wide open space, a little better turn radius...ugly because it sits so far from the gimbal? Hoping for reccs, someone has done this before! Thanks in advance. Phil

I will answer with a question, and I have done this before. Wouldnt you want a better turning radius on a single?

Have you considered an ITS setup? Nice clean install!

Dave,
Not familiar with ITS;
looking at mayfair, zeiger, imco. Need to take some measurements for the imco kits still. Just hoping for advice, and don't want to recreate the wheel. Have searched the interweb for ITS, can't find.
See you are in MD; go Terps tonight!
Thanks,
Phil

https://www.mercuryracing.com/sternd...ransom-system/

It is an extension box with the steering rams built in. I had it on my previous boat. It really cleans up the transom. I always thought my turning radius was no different than other external systems. You might be able to find a used setup here on OSO.

Appreciate the feedback! I decided to go with the hardin/mayfair full hydraulic system. Holler if your on the other side of the bay Dave. We run the choptank.
Thanks, Phil
