Why go from a Velocity 29 SC to a 26 Donzi ?

Just curious.

When I was looking I had narrowed my search down to a 26 Donzi or a 26 Velocity. That was the length that would fit in my garage.

I looked at all the brands and for me the Velocity fit what I was looking for the best.

I've owned a 1999 for 8 years and it fit the needs of my boating well (family boating/ lake poker runs etc). It will run mid to high 60's loaded fuel, people, and summer heat. Ideal conditions it runs 72 (GPS ) with a factory HP500. I would assume you will be 3 to 5 mph slower with a 425 HP 496 and with what others have stated with 502/454 mags. They like a lot of trim and need chop to run well. It's a predictable boat at speed, with that said when it would run 80mph+ with a procharger it would chine walk over 75 when hitting side wakes. It makes for a great multipurpose trailerable sport boat, too bad there's not much made anymore like these or the Velocity.
