Default 502 gen 6 convert to 500 efi cam with carb

Hi I have a 502 gen 6 with 850 carb, pro comp intake and Gil exhaust. I am wanting to install 500 efi cam. I have the cam, rockers and lifters . What springs would be recommend and any other info on doing this setup or suggestions. I do plan on having the heads ported also. Thanks in advance.

Isky 8005 or Comp 929's are common replacement springs on 500efi's.

Hi Griff what retainers and locks would you recommend ? I know I have to do head studs for adjustable just looking for a spring and components that go with it

If your having heads ported I'd have him set up for you so you can just bolt on. Otherwise when you purchase your springs just let rep know you need the correct locators, retainers, locks and rocker studs to go with comp 929 springs or whatever ones your going with. What head castings do you have?

Correct components very important.

You will need to have work done on the heads for the springs to fit. My guy thought the 929-16 springs were too light and recommended 959-16.
