I have had problems since I got the 36 with the speedo. First we could not get the hoses at the outdrives to stay connected. Finnally solved that problem, then I get into Florida waters and have clogged up the tubes twice.
Problem Solved
I just ordered a new Gaffrig GPS Monster speedo.
The GPS kit was a little expensive, so I plan to wire it into the output of my Ray GPS chartplotter.
I think ALL boat builders should be installing this. Have talked with guys that own them, and it is the only way to go.

Hey, I think my speedo's clogged too. Is there a way you can blow anything out of it?? Do you just disconnect the line from the back of the speedo and stick an air hose in there?? Is it a biotch or what??
Thanks

Yes, that is the procedure. Take the hose off the back and blow compressed air through it. The first time for me it worked just fine. But the second time, I have not been able to get it cleared. A real pain in the A$$.
Daze,
I have mumbled a few choice words for you brother!!!
I sure have the fever to head back your way. The wife wants to go to the Keys for the races, it will just be a bad time for me to get away from the office. Are you going down there?

Tank,
What dock said...
First I usually just see if I can dislodge whatever's in there with a coat hanger or some sililar device...Then it's compressed air from the front back(Meaning from the speedo).
Mark,
How's it goin' up there?
Ya, we're going down to Key West for the races. It should be a great time. November in Key West...Ahh, perfect. I know what the office thing can be like...I got lucky this year again.

Dude, that's gotta be killin' you if you don't have a working speedo...I've followed your saga. Good luck!
One more thing. Whatever you do, don't try to clean it with a drill. It will break off in there and then you'll really be pissed!
[I have no first-hand experience with this...No, really. I mean it]

Interesting, I wouldn't have thought that the trash would make it that far up the tube. Every time I've had to do it I could usually feel the trash near the pickup. Guess it gets pushed up the tube further when your running 70+
