I would like to pass on a tip about something I learned the hard way. When drilling the alignment tool for your bearing driver, don't use a very small drill bit for the pilot hole. You can start with a 1/8 bit at the punch mark, but only drill about an 1/8 deep. You can graduate with a few larger bits, but I would only go about a 1/4 deep. Use at least a 1/4 bit to make your pilot hole. At first I used a 3/16th and the bit strayed off center. apparently anything under a 1/4 has too much flex. The bore needs to be fairly precise or the pin won't go thru. I would recommend using a drill press with the piece locked in a vise. Use sharp bits and keep the work oiled. If you try to do it with a hand drill, chances are you wont be successful. If you don't have access to a drill press, you should probably have a machine shop do it for you. Sometimes it's hard to be a half ass mechanic and a machinist, but we try our best!

will add ---- No drilling ever required. They make mandrels that fit right on the alignment bar for gimbel bearing installation that self align the bearing. Been using the slip on mandrels for a least 20 years.
