Default Water found in the #8 cylinder of a 496

I am looking at a 2003 Formula 330 with 496 motors. I was told by the person selling the boat that one engine was rebuilt due to freezing over the winter. This motor has seacore cooling and no captains call. Has anyone ever heard of this issue. He told me the #8 cylinder got water in it through the exhaust I have heard this can happen when you have captains call when someone slows down too fast and the water gets past the flappers. I just wonder how it could happen with regular exhaust through the out drives, Thanks for the help in advance,
Curious about Formulas.
