I have a 28 Donzi ZXO, Merc 6.2's (95 hours) with a Latham external half system. Just had engine out service done and the mechanic took the boat out on a couple shake down runs all was good. My brother picked it up for me... his first day out a Power steering line started leaking. He fixed it and then I finally got the boat and took it out... my first run the line popped off the fitting after turning the wheel hard over while getting the boat lined up to the trailer. The line is coming out of where there is a fitting on the quick disconnects inside the engine compartment at the transom. I know it could be a dud part... but something else I should check? Also... is this repairable? The fitting isn't something I'm familiar with. Certainly not a standard clamp.

Hydraulic steering hose needs to be hydraulically pressed onto the fittings and hoses are usually rated to 2200 lbs. go to a local hydraulic shop and have them make it. This isn’t something a mechanic can fix.
the end you are showing is a nipple the hose slides on and the jacket that goes around it that’s pressed. Not sure what the other end is..can’t see it

Ayuh,..... Is that the hi-pressure supply hose from the pump to the actuator, or the low pressure return hose to the cooler,..??
The hi-pressure side runs 'bout 1000 psi, 'n needs to be a crimped fitting(the one in the picture was crimped, but pretty lightly)
The low pressure side only sees the resistance of the cooler, 'n the oil above it in the resv,.... open line to the pump, minimal pressure, 'n can be secured to the fittings with standard hose clamps,.....
