Default 500efi has a miss

My 1998 500efi has a miss and won’t idle..once the IAC goes to 0% and tries to idle at 800 rpm the engine dies. I plugged my Rinda techmate pro and checked for engine codes, it came up with “General warning 1 telltale has been set” i have tried googling it and can’t find anything, is this just a generic code? I had the injectors flow tested and cleaned over the winter so I’m pretty sure there all good, new fuel filter and water separator and plugs the only thing I didn’t do was new cap and rotor because they looked ok i thought..any ideas?

I'd figure out a way to get cylinder temps from the exhaust,,see which one is cold.then go from there, maybe hook up a vacuum gauge and see if its steady.general warning is just telling you it stalled.

Had a similar issue last year...get a fuel pressure guage and hook it up to the fuel rail. Should read 60 psi. Ours wouldnt idle and sounded like it was skipping...at higher rpms it would run fine.

if the regulator isn’t regulating you over pressurize the injectors loading up engine with fuel and doesn’t idle right.

if fuel pressure checks out..start looking at ignition. Coils, wires, spark plugs, etc.

General warning 1 is YOU have a bad OIL pressure switch. Not many know this but I have posted it up here about 5 to 6 times so sometimes it is wise to search up here because you might find the answer. .

Change the oil pressure switch and watch your IAC counts.

800 rpms at idle is too high. You need to adjust your throttle plate opening and or make sure you buy the correct IAC and not the online cheap knock off ones.
