The wife and I are heading down to New Bern next week and we are looking for fun places to visit. I will be bringing our boat (little 24ft bow rider) with us so I need some fun water destinations. We are staying at Fairfield Harbor. We will also be playing some golf around the area. I think she has the golf part taken care of but if you know of a great course that would be great.

Any thought or ideas?

That whole area has great water/river activities. I was at MCAS Cheery Point a few years back and downtown New Bern had some good restaurants, etc..

thanks for the info. The town looks very nice. We plan to spend some time there. I heard about a great little bar (Beer Army Burger Co.) that we will have to try. I like trying local micro beer places. any other ideas for must see places? I understand some of the docks still have not been rebuilt after the hurricane. Hope that wont be an issue when we get there.

Hope you had a good time in the area. We are in the morehead/beaufort area but go to new bern waterfront to eat often. Morgans Tavern is our go to restaurant, You have to check it out next time!

We had a great time when we were there. We plan to go back next summer and will need to try Morgan's Tavern.
