Default Manasquan inlet to nyc

PICKING UP A BOAT FROM TOMS RIVER AND HEADING. BACK TO NORTHSHORE LONGISLAND SAT .
COMING OUT OF MANASQUAN INLET HEADING NORTH .
HOW FAR OFF THE BEACH IS SAFE TO TRAVEL . 1 mile , 2 miles ? Thanks

1 mile would be more than enough. I have done the trip many times, and usually run about 1/2 mile off depending on tides. Try to time your trip for an outgoing tide. This will make the run through the canal and Manasquan river toward the ocean much better

Thanks ,leaving about 730 am sat ,should be dead low at about 8 ,

Watch out for the buoys, they sneak up on you out there!
