Default Prop suggestions on Straight bottom Lipship Gun

1989 LipShip gun
850 horse blower motors (Merlin 588/8-71)
#3 SSM 1.58:1

i do not know my exact speeds as Speedo quit working, already got a new pick up unit but decided to just overhaul gauges and dash this winter anyway.

currently running big shafts in the #3 with 4x17x31 b blades. I believe the boat is over propped... but I’m pulling the drives this weekend to swap out for drives that are believed to be 1.48 or 1.58 (won’t know for certain until Friday when I get to them) due to the fact that I have a suspect starboard drive with a fractured lower. With no time to get rebuilt before the Rendezvous, this was my best scenario.

karl has some props to choose from for the factory ssm3. Any suggestions? Not looking for ultimate performance right now, this is just a temporary solution to get me by until I can get another #3 built or bite the bullet and go ASD 😏

Assuming 6000 rpm redline 26-28” pitch. Boat should run mid to high 80’s.

Any chance you can borrow some props from someone a hour or two ? That would be your best bet

The boat is at LOTO. Don’t know anyone with sets of props laying around that are not #6’s

I’ll keep that in mind speedy. Scratch this idea though... I flew into across the country and rented a car for nothing. Drives were mis matched junk and I didn’t buy.

I’m going to take it easy and hope it last through Rendezvous weekend then figure out another solution.

anyone got a good pair of 3a’s or 5’s stashed away? 🤞
