Default Advise on a good prop or performance

Hey guys I have a 1997 Baja boss 252 w/ a 454 MPI 385hp with a Mirage plus 23p prop. WOT 4000 rpm 48 miles per hour max.

I have room to lower my pitch would like a 4 blade prop. advise me what would be best for me.

Thanks

I think you have engine performance issues, that should be the right prop for that and it should be running at least 10 mph faster

Are you relying on the original water tube speedo or is the 48 mph on gps ?
Variation on my '95 AT 25' speedo vs gps is between 5-10 mph and the boat speedo is always slower

If you think is a engine performance issue any idea what could it be ?
Engine sounds really nice cruises at 3500 rpm at 40 mph
Thanks again

Verify that both throttle plates are fully open @ WOT, check fuel pressure under load, check the condition of the ignition system, check compression

The only other thing that would make any sense of the low rpm with this prop is if it the drive had been changed to a 1:36 ratio
drive, which in this application wouldn’t make much sense
