The normal is no more then 10% between high and low, and much over 150 means there is liquid in the cylinder
one dead and one liquid

Thanks, I was early when I posted this and of course the last one was zero... I guess wishful thinking... Now for some more wishful thinking I hope to pull the head off and it look good under it... and can get away with head jobs and gaskets

Thought of something, the zero cylinder being #7 I would look close at the plug an piston. That one can lean out and burn a hole (assuming MPI)

I tried to look for a bad spot with a bore scope... couldn't really tell...

Ok I have a question about the boat maybe I should start a new thread but I will see if I get any hits with the current title

My 2000 442 is equipped with 3 stock 502 MPI 415 HP
if a man had enough money to re rig and put 2 of the 1100 or 1350 mercs would the boat be able to hold up with the power...the boat weights 14,400 dry....it does 60-65 now with the power... I’M NOT WANTING to go 100mph but 65-85 would be cool...but i would like a better cruising speed of 50-55mph vs my 35-40 I'm at now...I know it's NOT a speed boat and I DON’T want one... but a better cruising speed and reliability and fuel consumption is what I would be after

What do the experienced and experts think...I'm ask on here for truthfully answers not Facebook bullchit thanks again for all the great help on this forum

Anything can go 100mph if you throw enough power at it.
Your boat is not a 100mph boat. Any attempt to make it one will be fraught with insane expense and bad outcome. If somebody has a bet with you or has double-dog-dared you to do it, then I understand. Aside from that, be content with your 60+mph boat.

When you truly decide that you want an 85mph boat, go buy an 85mph boat that you can drive at speed and decide in realtime whether you like the way the hull behaves at that speed. You take (6) 85+mph boats and go drive them 85, and you will have 6 different experiences.
I have owned a 17' long 90mph pad-vee hull outboard. I have owned a 75 mph 31' deep vee twin bigblock boat. I have owned a 77mph waverunner. I have owned a 110mph 18' tunnel vee outboard. I have seat time in a 145mph 44' MTI catamaran.
Each of these boats is an entirely different experience at 75mph.

Your 442 is a great 70mph hull. Don't try to make it something it isnt.

Yes thank you...but I was curious if the transom would work with two stronger motors vs the three that are in there now... and if it would give me a better cruising speed and fuel consumption... i may not have explained myself right in my last post... but thank you again

It takes a certain amount of fuel to make a certain amount of HP and certain amount of HP to move a boat at certain speed.
A single 1350 would use just as much fuel as your 3 502mpi's combined.
