It was a joke. I have no bad will against SBI or John. They have always been good to me.

Based on the press release coming from the SBI news section, as well as their follow-up post on their Facebook page, I have zero reason to believe this is a "joke." Also worth noting? The Key West Citizen reported the same news out of SBI the following day.
