I have searched some old post on the 288 Top Speed. Been a long time since anyone has posted any numbers or discussed.
I have a 2009 288 SSR with the 496 HO. One person and a full tank of fuel I top out at between 64 mph and 66mph with a 24p prop.
What is everyone else seeing for numbers?

Call the factory and talk to Joe or Kyle. They will pull the file on your actual boat and tell you exactly how it left the factory and what to expect for speed.
SSR is just a paint/trim level. Any 288 hull from that year or newer will run the same speed with the same power. They made a stripped "S" model that was light on bling but I'd bet the weight was so close to a loaded SSR that the speed difference would be less than 1 mph.

I have talked to the factory before and they told me the 24P is what came on the boat.
I think the motor is running well. I have had it scanned before and its not throwing any codes. In the last 2 years I have replaced the alternator, IAC, Replaced the Cool Fuel System, and had BUP rebuild my fuel injectors.
The speedometer in the boat is a gps spedo. It also agrees well with the GPS speed on the chart plotter.
Here is some data
RPM----------------Speed (MPH)
2000 RPM---------12.5 mph
2500 RPM---------20.5 mph
3000 RPM---------27 mph
3500 RPM---------37 mph
4000 RPM---------50 mph
4500 RPM---------58 mph
4850 RPM---------64/65 mph
If I trim the boat more I can get up to 5150 RPM (Rev Limiter). But I will lose a MPH or two.
Time to plane if I use the Tabs is about 8.7s and if I don’t use the tabs it takes about 10.6s.
Seems like I should give a 26P B1 a try next. Maybe the previous owner put the 24p on it.
Thanks for the feedback.
